Simple Church Conference / Retreat – October 28-29

Come to Kentucky’s second oldest town this year to connect with and learn alongside simple/house/organic church practitioners from around the region at the 2023 Simple Church Retreat/Conference!  Since 2012, we have sought to host an annual overnight opportunity for Christians asking similar questions to come together for a time of equipping and encouragement—questions like: What is a church really? What are the challenges we would need to overcome in order to be a part of a simple/house church? Am I even allowed to start a house church and if so how does that happen? Good Friday Worship and Communion Network Gathering

Friends, We would like to invite all simple and house church friends to come together for a special Good Friday worship and communion gathering at the Lexington Prayer Room on Broadway located at 1218 S Broadway, Lexington, KY 40504.  Several folks from area simple churches will lead us in a time of worship through song.  If you you have a song, poem, or reading that you would like to share, please come prepared to do so as well! Coffee and light dessert will be provided.  RSVP not required but helpful.  Let us know if you plan to come by emailing us here.  We look forward to seeing you!

Christmas Gathering – A BIG Thanks!

A big “thank you” goes out to all who made it to Lexington for the Simple Church Alliance Christmas Gathering!  It is always exciting to see friends from simple churches throughout the state of Kentucky to come together and to meet new folks interested in house church! Christmas Gathering This Sunday

Friends, This Sunday we would like to invite all friends of simple / house church in the region to join us for a special Christmas Gathering.  We will enjoy fellowship, Christmas music, and a lunch together.  If you have a song, story, scripture, poem, etc, to share related Christmas come prepared to share it! I will provide meat and drinks and everyone is invited to bring a side or dessert if they come.  Please RSVP with me here and we will look forward to celebrating the birth of Christ together this Sunday! House Church Connection Dinner – Sun, Nov 6

UPDATE: Location moved to the Duerson’s home. Let’s connect! – Sunday November 6th! House church (or what also can be referred to as “organic church” or “simple church”) communities are springing up all around. We’d love to provide a time for fellowship, prayer, and encouragement for these communities in the area! In addition, we always want to give people in house church an opportunity to connect with others on a similar path. Simple Church Retreat 2022 (Reg. Deadline Aug 22)

Karla and I would like to you to join us for a special evening of music with Zach Winters, Turtledoves, and our friend Dana Vogel. I learned of Zach Winters several years ago when he was touring with Josh Garrels, another artist that Karla and I have enjoyed. We immediately became fans of Zach after hearing his songs which reflect both the beauty and truth of God. While we spent months in the hospital with our daughter Wylie, Zach’s album Love is a Garden really encouraged us during a difficult season of life. His song Give Thanks (below) was my morning alarm tune for a solid year. Good Friday Worship and Prayer (Network Gathering)

You are invited to a Good Friday worship and prayer gathering on April 15th from 6:30-8pm!  Let’s come together this Good Friday at the Prayer Room on Broadway in Lexington, KY!  Local house church friends will lead this time of worship and prayer. If you would like to share a poem, song, or scripture during this time, come prepared to share it. We hope you can join us! Join simple church friends and family from the region for a Back2Basics Breakfast where we will enjoy food and a conversation about the basics of simple church. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in the idea of simple church to meet others following Christ in simple/organic ways and have their questions answered.
