Update… Thanks to all who were able to join.  We are grateful for the Phillips family leading us in praise and worship and for the opportunity to reflect on the significance of Good Friday!  We are also grateful for the news the Roberts family received during our time together that a heart donor had been found for Katherine (She now has the heart and is in recovery!).   ——- You are invited to join friends of Simple Church Alliance at this year’s Good Friday Worship and Communion Gathering in Lexington at the Prayer Room on Broadway. Network Christmas Gathering – December 21

The Advent season is here! Karla and I have enjoyed following along with the Advent Project at Biola University over the years. Perhaps you’ll find it to be a refreshing way to prepare for Christmas as well? And speaking of Christmas… Come together with Simple Church communities and friends this Christmas for a special potluck lunch! We will enjoy Christmas music, a reading of the Christmas story, and anything else you’d like to share. Simple Church Network Gathering – October 26

Several simple church communities are coming together this Sunday for a time of fellowship and encouragement, and you’re invited! This will be a great opportunity to meet others involved in simple churches across the region and to learn more about what simple church is all about. Our gathering will be relaxed and informal—we’ll pull everyone together briefly to share and hear a bit about each simple church represented. Adventure Serve is a wonderful place for kids to play and enjoy the outdoors, and if it rains, we’ll still have plenty of space to gather comfortably indoors. 2025 Simple Church Retreat

Sign up today for the 2025 Simple Church Retreat at the Stanford Inn at the Wilderness Road in Stanford, KY September 27-28.  Enjoy a wonderful time with others involved in simple church communities across the region, in this event’s thirteenth year! Good Friday Network Gathering – April 18

You are invited to join simple church friends and family on Friday, April 18th at the Prayer Room on Broadway for a Good Friday celebration.  We will enjoy a time of worship through song and celebrate the Lord’s table together.  Light refreshments will be served. Christmas Celebration Gathering December 15

Join simple/house/organic church communities from the area for a special Christmas celebration potluck on Sunday, December 15th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. We invite all to come ready to share stories of what God has done this year and celebrate the birth of Christ together. Drinks and meat will be provided, so plan to bring a side dish and/or dessert. We will have a meal and time to share stories and Christmas carols. Please feel free to bring a friend! Fall Network Gathering   On Sunday, September 29th at 11 AM we will have a fall network gathering for all simple church friends!  Come together for a bring-your-own picnic lunch at Camp Kearney in the back of Jacobson Park in Lexington!  Note that some picnic tables are available.  We do have indoor space if the weather doesn’t cooperate.  Please take this opportunity to bring a frisbee, a football, or anything you and your kids might enjoy doing outside (Bikes? Fishing poles? hammock?). Perhaps this could be a great way to introduce a friend to simple church? 2024 Simple Church Retreat Oct 19-20

Come to Stanford, Kentucky’s second oldest town this year to connect with and learn alongside simple/house/organic church practitioners from around the region at the 2024 Simple Church Retreat/Conference October 19-20! Since 2012, we have hosted an annual overnight opportunity for Christians asking similar questions to come together for a time of equipping and encouragement—questions like: What is a church really and how simple can it be? What are the challenges we would need to overcome in order to be a part of a simple/house church? Am I even allowed to start a house church and if so how does that happen? A Conversation With Wayne and Sara Jacobsen – June 1 (ALMOST FULL)

On Saturday, June 1st we will host a conversation with Wayne and Sara Jacobsen here in Lexington, KY from 10am to 4pm.  Our conversation will address many of the topics in Wayne’s writings including the books Finding Church and He Loves Me. Christmas Network Gathering Dec 17

We will host a network Christmas gathering for all friends of Simple Church Alliance on Sunday, December 17 at 10am.  This will be a potluck meal and time of encouragement and Christmas music.  We hope that this can be a great way for us all to connect over the busy Christmas season.  We do ask that everyone please RSVP and let me know if you would like to bring a side dish or dessert by Sunday Dec. 10.  We will provide meat and beverages.  If you are a part of a simple church community and would like to rsvp for your whole group that would be great.  If not, then just let me know directly.  Thanks and we look forward to seeing you all!
