How Zúme Training Works

We have been talking a lot about the Zúme Project and the free online discipleship and simple church training it provides.  Now that the project is officially launched over at www.zumeprject.com, you might be wondering how the training tool can best be used for you, your family, and friends.  We will have a lot more thoughts about this in the coming days so make sure to subscribe to this site in the right hand column if you have not done so.  For now, check out this short video that will give you a better sense of how you can use this tool in your area!  

Simple Church Experience – Intro Jan 21

Starting January 21st and continuing on the third wednesday of each month throughout 2015, we will begin hosting the Simple Church Experience. The Simple Church Experience will be an opportunity for you and a friend to take part in doing the things that disciple-makers do. Week 1 // Introduction // 6-8pm First Southern National Bank, Lexington // dinner provided. Summer Celebration Gathering – August 17

Sunday, August 17 // 5-9PM // Bluegrass Christian Camp, Athens KY // 7463 Athens Boonesboro Rd, Lexington, Kentucky 40509 The Simple Church Alliance is a network or “alliance” of people following Jesus outside the traditional “church” path.  Simple churches are small, reproducible families of faith who get together weekly in homes, parks, and cafes to have a meal with Jesus and encourage one another.  Four to five times a year we invite those involved in simple churches along with their friends and neighbors to come together larger family of people involved in simple church communities across the region. July 17 – Simple Church Training @ Duerson’s

Simple Church Alliance’s monthly training opportunity! June Simple Church Network Gathering – June 19

Simple Church Network Gathering THURSDAY June 19 – 6-8pm Wheeler Farm: 2302 Union Mill Rd, Nicholasville KY   Starting this month we are going to move our monthly training to Thursday nights…  To kick it off right we wanted to do something special so we are going to have a time of fellowship at the Wheeler’s farm!  This will not be a typical “training” but rather a time for folks from various simple churches to cross pollinate and encourage one another!  It is also a great time for anyone new to simple church to come and meet others who are involved!  We will plan on having pizza for everyone and we encourage you to bring a fishing pole, a folding chair, and any musical instruments you may have.  We will enjoy a time of fellowship… Read More »June Simple Church Network Gathering – June 19

New Day of Month For Simple Church Trainings

Simple Church Training – Now on the THIRD THURSDAY OF EACH MONTH. UPDATE:  See HERE FOR DETAILS FOR JUNE 19! Each month we gather together for an informal “training” of sorts.  We find that providing an opportunity for those seeking to lead simple churches (or just looking for the encouragement to start) is helpful in encouraging one another and helping rotationally connect various simple churches.  There are now a couple of different simple church communities that primarily are gathering on Wednesday nights so we thought we would give thursday nights a shot so that some of those folks can benefit from the training opportunities.  Starting in June, we will shift our day to the third thursday of the month.  Same start time and place – 6-8pm at 3060 Harrodsburg Road.  So the next several training… Read More »New Day of Month For Simple Church Trainings

April 9 Simple Church Training

Simple Church Alliance’s monthly training opportunity! Each month, we invite you to join a growing group of people leading simple churches as well as those preparing to lead simple church ministries for a time of fellowship, encouragement and training!  Each month we will discuss issues related to simple church ministry and offer an opportunity for you to share struggles, questions, and even victories from the journey.   This Month: Preparing for Easter On April 9, Join us as we prepare for Easter.  We will discuss the upcoming 24-hour prayer time between Good Friday and Easter as well as the Celebration Gathering we will host on Easter (5pm at the FAC Gym).  Most of all, we will fellowship, catch up, and pray for each other and the simple church communities represented.  We only do this once… Read More »April 9 Simple Church Training

May Simple Church Training (New Location)

Simple Church Training: Apostles

By Nate Smith October’s Simple Church leadership meeting was a discussion on the Ephesians 4:11-12 passage.  The conversation revolved around the apostle’s characteristics led by Chris Phebus.  Here are some notes that were gathered from Wednesday night: Apostle:  Someone who is sent Why is there a rejection of those who are called to be apostles?  This is due to the argument that this gift along with other gifts died out with the first century church.  However, it may be due to today’s church making excuses for not going out.
