Recently, we have been blessed to connect with two wonderful families just outside of Pittsburgh, PA. Dylan and Ami Drake first reached out after finding this website. Then, after several conversations and a visit to Lexington, they, along with friends Kaden and Alyssa Browe, are beginning to see God birth a new community in their town of Greensburg! I am personally encouraged by the simple steps of faith they are taking to love people and help everyone understand their identity in Christ. I was adding them to the directory here (I’m long overdue in updating the directory!), and I asked Dylan if he would mind sharing a little more about their group. Please pray for the Drakes and the Browes as they trust God to “bring church to the unchurched” in the greater Pittsburgh area!
Greensburg Simple Church:
Our group formed organically after years of tight-knit home Bible studies and discipleship. Through our times of study together, we began to ask why the early Church looked different compared to many congregations today. This led us to take a step of faith into simple church and see what the Holy Spirit might do! Through the process, the Lord has been teaching us how to live a more sustainable way of life together. He has also put an imprint on us to be more intentionally missional in day-to-day life.
We look forward to seeing what God will do in Greensburg and Western PA! We would love to see a network grow here and are particularly excited about finding others in our community who have a passion to bring simple church to their neighborhoods, families, and workplaces. Lord, send more laborers into Your harvest!
