We all know it’s important to meet together often as believers for our mutual encouragement. This is true and good. What’s not necessarily true and good, is that many of us equate this with Sunday worship service.

Canceling Church

Do we “cancel church?” This is the question many church leaders are wrestling with today. The coronavirus is bringing many aspects of society to a screeching halt. Governments have asked churches to close. Are we “selling out” if we fail to stand up to the government? I would contend that the issue lies with the premise. Francis Chan: Chuck E. Cheese Church?

In a recent Charisma magazine article, Francis Chan shared more on his journey from megachurch pastor to simple church planter. Chan doesn’t think the standard church model is wrong.  But he does think it’s often distracted from what matters.  He compares it to throwing a birthday party for his son.  He could invite a few friends over to celebrate his song and give him gifts.  He could also rent out Chuck E. A “Radical” New Teaching Method Discovered?
