My Hope America With Billy Graham (Update)

Hello folks!  Below is information about how you can order (for free) the DVD with Billy Graham’s new recorded message he has done for the “My Hope” nationwide outreach this November that he is heading up.  Clicking the link will also take you to the website to learn more about this opportunity which I think many in simple church will find to be a natural, relational, and intentional way to go about sharing the Gospel with our friends and neighbors.  Note there are several other gospel presentation videos available online that you could show at your “Mathew Party” that are available for viewing online now.

IF you plan to host a Matthew party please let me know and I’ll include you on upcoming communications with other simple church folk about the  “My Hope” outreach.

Please let me know if you have any questions or I can help you in any way.  I will be praying that the Lord would place on your heart the right person(s) that would welcome an invitation to your home to hear this message from Dr. Graham, but most importantly from YOU!

I would like to bring to your attention an initiative by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.  I think it may be something for every simple/house/organic church-minded person’s consideration.

Essentially, Billy Graham has challenged the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association to implement a process for sharing the Gospel in America that their missionaries have implemented in countries across the globe for years, but never here.  The plan is to encourage believers to invite not-yet believers and friends into their home this November for a party and to hear a new message from Billy Graham along with a personal testimony—much in the same way that Matthew did in the Gospels when, after leaving everything to follow Jesus, he threw a party so that his friends could be introduced to Him as well.

I know that there could be several aspects of this initiative that could be a turn-off to those who have left the institutional church and it’s “methods.”  But to me, this is an initiative that is very much in-line with the Biblical process for naturally and reaching our neighbors with the Good News.   What is more, I believe that God might even choose to use this to birth droves of simple churches in the wake of these “Matthew parties.”   To me, it’s very much a “simple church” idea!

If we believe in the “city church,” being Kingdom-minded, and in the value working with other believers for the sake of the Gospel in our community then this could be a great opportunity.  Ask yourself, what might happen if every person in your simple church hosted such a party?  I don’t know, but I can’t wait to find out!

I would love to hear your thoughts.

We will host an informational meeting/training during our September Simple Church Training (Sept. 11)!  Please feel free to join us!

“Multitudes of Christians within the church are moving toward the point where they may reject the institution that we call the church. They are beginning to turn to more simplified forms of worship. They are hungry for a personal and vital experience with Jesus Christ. They want a heartwarming personal faith. Unless the church quickly recovers its authoritative Biblical message, we may witness the spectacle of millions of Christians going outside the institutional church to find spiritual food.”
