Connect with and learn alongside simple/house/organic church practitioners from around the region at this year’s simple church conference/retreat. This year, we welcome Lee and Stacy Wood from Tampa, FL. Lee and Stacy have seen God birth over a hundred house churches throughout the Tampa area in the last several years as Jesus’s followers have been empowered and encouraged to be the Church in their neighborhoods, workplaces and areas of influence.
We encourage you to bring the whole family this year and enjoy a time together of refreshment and encouragement around the campfire, on a hike through the Jessamine Gorge, and in times of worship and story-telling together. During our “gathering” times, school age children will be able to participate in separate leadership activities if parents desire. Meals will be provided on site.

What are lodging options?
Rooms have heated/ac bunk rooms with new pillow-top mattresses. We intend for it to be divided up boys and girls in separate rooms. There are a few small private rooms with 2-3 twin beds in them. You also have the option of camping.
What will camping look like?
There is a nice spot next to the creek and fire pit where you are welcome to camp. Essentially you will be “car camping” and are welcome to prepare as such. Please let us know if you plan to bring your own tent. Otherwise, if you get a ticket for “camping,” we will have a tent ready for you upon arrival. You are welcome to camp together as a family.
What type of childcare will be available for smaller children
We will have trained teenagers on hand to give the school-aged children a retreat experience of their own during times away from parents. Pre-schoolers will need to be supervised by their parents at all times.
What should I bring into the event?
Please bring toiletries, a pillow, linens (or sleeping bag), Bible, an outdoor folding chair would also be recommended. We will provide some snacks, but you are welcome to bring your own in addition. Rooms are bunk style. We will divide up men and women for this event (unless camping as a family). If you have special accommodation requests, please let me know. You will also want to bring comfortable clothes and be prepared for cooler temperatures as well as warmer temperatures. October in Kentucky can see all kinds of weather!
What if I have dietary concerns for the meals (vegan, vegetarian, etc.)?
Please contact Gavin and we will be happy to accommodate you!
Can I come for part of the conference?
We encourage all attendees to stay overnight. However, we understand that some may not be able to make it for the entire conference. Please join us for as much as possible and make sure to get a ticket for “no lodging” here on this site.
Are scholarships available?
Yes. Contact Gavin Duerson to request a scholarship. Please send and email with the subject “Conference Scholarship” and briefly state your desire for financial assistance. Feel free to request on behalf of a friend. If you would like to make a donation for a scholarship, please select the scholarship option in registration.
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Contact Gavin Duerson at 859 494 8524 or by email firstname.lastname@example.org
