Simple Church Retreat October 3-4 – Register Today!

Friends, Karla and I could not be more excited to welcome everyone back to Stanford, KY, for our annual Simple Church Retreat. We look forward to this time each year as an opportunity to connect with all of you. It is our deepest prayer that our time together will be a source of encouragement and refreshment for any believer in need of a reset—especially those of you who help facilitate simple or house church communities across the region. If you are new to house church or simple church, or perhaps simply asking questions about what it really means to be the church, this retreat is a wonderful opportunity to connect with others on similar journeys and take part in conversations that will hopefully help you discover God’s direction for this season of your life. Giving Tuesday

Today is Giving Tuesday, and while we know many requests are coming your way, we pray you’ll consider partnering with us as a family as we continue serving through Simple Church Alliance. No gift is too small. Our heart and calling is to train, equip, encourage, and connect simple church leaders and house church communities across our region. We’ve seen God at work in living rooms, around kitchen tables, and in small gatherings where people are discovering the beauty of following Jesus in simple, relational ways. Your support directly sustains our family and allows us to walk alongside these leaders—providing encouragement, coaching, resources, retreats, and connection for those who often feel alone in their journey. This Giving Tuesday, would you prayerfully consider supporting us? Your generosity helps us continue sharing the love of Jesus and… Read More »Giving Tuesday

Considering our “Why?”

Recently I was blessed to be able to spend some time with several simple church leaders from the region.  We discussed our recent experiences in outside-the-box types of ministry and considering our “why?” for staying the course.  Most everyone present has persevered with simple church for a long period of time through the joys and challenges of cutting a new trail. As we shared our motivations for continuing along the simple/house/organic church path and God’s work in it, several themes emerged.  Many voices echoed the values that led folks connected here to start thinking more simply about local church fellowship.  Similarly, there was a growing sense in the group that God desires oneness in His Body and that this unity was directly linked to our understanding and identification with the Kingdom of God. Personally, I was able to share… Read More »Considering our “Why?”

January 20 Leadership Gathering

January Simple Church Leadership Gathering. As we begin a new year, I would like to encourage all simple church leaders and those hoping to lead simple church this year to come together for “kick off” of sorts for 2016. We enjoy a dinner together and take time to re-focus our hearts on the vision God has given us, “Multiplying disciples and ultimately simple churches to the ends of the earth.” Please pray about and come ready to share briefly with others how you sense God leading you to live out our vision in 2016. Some questions to consider as you pray thought this: Are there any specific people the Lord is opening up discipleship relationships with? Are there any places the Lord is leading you to go to? Who are the persons of peace in… Read More »January 20 Leadership Gathering
