Join us for Coffee and Music with Zach Winters, Turtledoves, and Dana Vogel – July 22

Karla and I would like to you to join us for a special evening of music with Zach Winters, Turtledoves, and our friend Dana Vogel. I learned of Zach Winters several years ago when he was touring with Josh Garrels, another artist that Karla and I have enjoyed. We immediately became fans of Zach after hearing his songs which reflect both the beauty and truth of God. While we spent months in the hospital with our daughter Wylie, Zach’s album Love is a Garden really encouraged us during a difficult season of life. His song Give Thanks (below) was my morning alarm tune for a solid year. Recently he has released a dual ep, The Other Side, and we are super pumped to welcome him to the area to share his music with everyone live!… Read More »Join us for Coffee and Music with Zach Winters, Turtledoves, and Dana Vogel – July 22

“New Life” and “Family” Testimonies

The following is an excerpt from our friends in Jessamine Co, Kate and Kaleb, who lead a couple of simple churches there!  God continues to do amazing things through their availability to young men and women in need.  Read their entire newsletter here. // What’s Been Happening? New Life! The best thing I can share with you from the last couple of months is that a young girl named Kailee gave her life to Christ. Here’s the simple version of the story that I’m sure started a big party in heaven. Kailee started coming to our Wednesday simple church a few months ago with a group of her friends. She didn’t seem particularly interested in God, but she loves singing and we make a lot space for people to play music, sing, and hang out on… Read More »“New Life” and “Family” Testimonies

Stories From The Harvest

By Kaleb and Kate Phillips God has been doing work, and the enemy has been on the attack. I wish I could describe and explain all of the ways that God has orchestrated events in our lives and ministry over the past several weeks and months, but honestly, I’m still pretty overwhelmed. We have been, and are still, facing a lot of darkness. Sometimes it feels like we’re completely in the dark. Sometimes it feels more like drowning. Literally, we have been facing such heavy spiritual attacks that we are experiencing physical symptoms. Last night in our house church our family was feeling good, ready, excited. Then, several people walked in and the atmosphere completely changed, there was a heaviness, a burden, a darkness. Our energy was gone, our focus was broken. We prayed through… Read More »Stories From The Harvest

“Church At The Place” Update

What’s God been teaching us? (By Kaleb and Kate Phillips)   Focusing on the Few God continues to bring broken people into our lives as we make ourselves available to him. There are many needs around us, but our goal is to stay focused on the few people that God draws to us and to work where Jesus is working. If we can raise up a handful of leaders who will break the generational curses in their families, raise their children in the knowledge of Jesus, and multiply their faith, we will have spent our time wisely. The reality of our church and ministry (and personally following Jesus) is that it is more typically a daily grind of obedience and openness to the Holy Spirit than it is an emotional mountain top of worship and… Read More »“Church At The Place” Update

Baptisms and Such

God has been moving! The past six weeks have been some of the fullest, most rewarding, and most draining times of our lives and certainly of our ministry. Since the middle of September we have seen eight young people profess faith in Jesus as Savior and step into the waters of baptism. To put this in perspective, in the previous year we had baptized four people, all of which were amazing stories of redemption. During the past few weeks though, God has really been doing some cool stuff…..early church in the book of Acts type of stuff! Our gatherings have been lasting for hours because no one wants to leave. Teenagers who are rough and ragged are stopping people on the street to pray for them and tell them about what Jesus is doing in… Read More »Baptisms and Such
