Pancake Sundays I saw this commercial for HomeGoods just now and I thought it would be great to share! Two of the most common questions I get are, “How can we get started with simple church?” and “How are children involved in simple church?” I thought the commercial illustrates potential answers to both!

Recently a new friend asked if I knew about what Francis Chan was doing in California.  My friend thought that our work here sounded similar to “We Are Church,” The ministry Francis Chan started a few years ago.  So I visited their website and this is how they describe their “structure.”  What do you think? Now it’s one thing to identify these four values, but it’s certainly another thing to be part of a body that actually exhibits these qualities. Spring Cleaning by Kristy Wheeler Friends, while spring cleaning this week I found a jar full of thoughts & prayers from our group many years ago. I figured it would be encouraging to share these since no names are attached and since quite a bit of time has passed. –God expects us to gather like we do. We will not grow as He intends if we avoid deep fellowship. When life gets tough, we tend to avoid getting with the church. Skate Church-FCA Skate Camp Wrap Up by Gavin Duerson We wrapped up our 8th year of Skate Camp yesterday! This camp has a special place in my heart as, in many ways, it was the beginning of what would become “skate church” and what would also help me clearly see the vision for “simple church.” I am super blessed to see that this camp continues to be a pillar in the skate church community and that God is continuing to use it to grow the Kingdom! What’s God been teaching us? (By Kaleb and Kate Phillips)   Focusing on the Few God continues to bring broken people into our lives as we make ourselves available to him. There are many needs around us, but our goal is to stay focused on the few people that God draws to us and to work where Jesus is working. If we can raise up a handful of leaders who will break the generational curses in their families, raise their children in the knowledge of Jesus, and multiply their faith, we will have spent our time wisely. I got involved with home church back in 1978 in Manchester, NH.  I’ve found that it’s been the greatest involvement with any group of people because of the focus on Jesus Christ.
